WiFi Tablet PC Designed

The latest innovation from Motion Computing is a Tablet PC for medical professionals aimed at saving time, effort, and money. They project that it can save doctors and nurses from as much as 60 minutes of paperwork per day.

The Intel and Motion Computing folks spent a full 18 months observing and gathering feedback from doctors, nurses, and clinicians. That homework is evident in the presentation and the features list.

The C5 is a Vista- or XP-powered portable PC that is filled with medicine-friendly features, among them a barcode scanner, RFID reader, digital camera, and 802.11 wireless connectivity. All of these things make it a solid alternative to the deskwork and paperwork that fill so much of doctors’ and nurses’ days. It is also, most importantly, disinfectable.

The guts of the matter are an Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, a 10.4-inch touchscreen, up to 60GB hard drive, and even Bluetooth. AIt weighs just 3 pounds and has a top-mounted handle for easy transport. All of this together will set you back US$2,199, which we’re guessing isn’t a whole lot when you start to factor in the hassles you’ll avoid. Do keep in mind, though, that the battery life is only four hours at most.

Thermal Pest Camera

Introducing the Bug Eye Thermal Pest Camera. The latest technology in termite and pest detection. The Bug Eye Thermal Camera utilizes a high resolution monitor to display temperature differences down to 0.05°C allowing the operator to see both warm and cool areas in wall and ceiling cavities caused by termite infestation. Due to the highly sensitive resolution of the unit, active termite leads in hidden cavities are also visible in ideal conditions. A unique capability of the unit is the optional wireless transmitter module for viewing images on a remote screen or documenting inspections on a notebook PC or VCR.

Weighing only 1.25 kilograms, this new lightweight plans to pack a significant punch with its highly portable alluminum casing. It's little more than 2 centimetres thick.

Connectivity options include 3G/HSDPA as well as Wi-fi, offering users high speed access to the internet.

The device features a HDMI port enabling HD video out, a built-in camera for video calling, bluetooth and SD card reader. Featuring a 10-inch glass HD ready display and a built-in A-GPS (which works with the Ovi Maps gadget), pinpointing your exact position takes only seconds.

We cannot really be surprised by this move, considering that Nokia is one of the world's leading providers of connectivity. Considering that Nokia is probably one of the most well known names in the world today, consumers should be able to look forward to be able to add to their list of gadgets the new Booklet 3G.
